Students Surveyed on Financial Literacy Know-How
The report card is in, and it shows room for improvement. When surveyed by the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, the Class of 2008 scored just 48.3 percent on personal finance questions, down from 52.4 percent in 2006.

Challenge Your Class This Spring
The President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy is sponsoring the National Financial Literacy Challenge this spring. High school teachers are encouraged to save a class period in late April/early May for students to take the online challenge. After answering 35 basic personal finance questions, students scoring in the top 25th percentile of national scores will be eligible for recognition from the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy.
