IRS Announces Economic Payment Schedule

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has recently announced that it will begin sending out more than 130 million economic stimulus rebates starting May 2. The payments will be sent out in order of the last two digits of the Social Security number used on your 2007 tax return. On a jointly-filed return, the first Social Security number listed will be used for the mail out date. The IRS says in order to receive your stimulus rebate, you just need to file your tax return as you normally would. However, low-income workers or recipients of Social Security or veteran benefits who don’t normally file a tax return will need to do so in order to receive the rebate. Of course, there are some exceptions, check out the IRS Web site to find answers to all of your rebate questions.
